This week's artist (group actually) in the spotlight is Ashy L Bowz. Ashy L Bowz consists of Deeno Snuff and TripleX, two Emcees from New York that literally talk about their everyday experiences growing (and growing up) in the city that never sleeps. These experiences cover bases touched upon by other rappers, for sure, but they also include references to, for example, regular, paid employment - something the majority of rappers past or present fail to acknowledge as a legitimate topic either because for them it isn't or they like to pretend it isnt...
'No Lotion 2: The Great Repression' is the name of the group's second 'commercial' release and includes the lead single 'Grustle', plus the tracks I've been featuring 'Blown', 'Down To My Last', 'Decisions' and the track played on tonight's show 'Follow Me'. The latter three mentioned tracks were all produced by G Ryder, watch out for other productions by him.
